Yes it is true! Ecco is proud to now be carrying a new denim line. Since we are the denim hot spot of downtown Burlington, we knew there was no better way to start off July than gaining a new denim line. Recently created, AMO denim has five specific must have styles that targets all customers. Created by industry veterans with experience from True Religion and Current Elliot, AMO’s five styles are cut from the best vintage denim and range from your true boyfriend jean to your true skinny jean. All of their denim is carefully made with love so that everyone can find their perfect jean. Below is a small excerpt from the AMO website that elaborates further on the AMO story
Longtime friends and self proclaimed denim soulmates, Kelly Urban and Misty Zollars founded AMO in 2014 out of a personal desire and void in the market. ”We couldn’t find the jeans we wanted to wear” both stated, ”We absolutely love vintage jeans, but we find that they rarely fit well and are often uncomfortable. We wanted that vintage look, but also wanted a jean that fit perfectly, and that felt good on.
But it doesn’t stop here, AMO also works with a non-profit organization named SNP LA. This non-profit organization is the largest nonprofit spay and neuter animal welfare organization in California. When buying a pair of AMO denim, you know that a small portion of the proceeds are going to a loving and nurturing organization. What better way to shop? Here is another excerpt from the AMO website explaining in depth what SNP LA does.
SNP LA’s vision is to ensure that spay, neuter and veterinary wellness services are affordable and accessible to all pet owners in the Los Angeles area and to create an environment in which animal shelters no longer rely on euthanizing animals as a way of controlling pet population. SNP LA has spayed and neutered over 100,000 cats and dogs – preventing millions of animals from being born into homelessness.
Here are the 5 styles that AMO carries. Each come in different washes which include distressing and non-distressing. Come to Ecco this July and find your new favorite pair of jeans from AMO denim!
Ecco Clothes in downtown Burlington has long been known as the hotspot for designer clothing, particularly women’s denim and dresses. Over the last two decades we have continually provided women the beautiful fabrics, patterns and styles of some of fashion’s favorite brands. In more recent years, Ecco has slowly moved into the territory of men’s clothing. Burlington is full of professional men in need of durable, well-tailored clothing. We would love to take this opportunity to spotlight our men’s department and to showcase all the amazing brands we carry!
Our men’s department is fully stocked with denim, shorts, button downs, flannels, dress shirts and the casual and comfortable basics. We are always looking out for the latest trends in the men’s world to bring into our store. Not surprisingly, our best seller has always been denim and here’s why: we carry four amazing denim brands that always come through with the best and latest trends for our guys! AG (Adriano Goldschmied) is a brand based out of Los Angeles that’s been around for 15 years and is founded by “the godfather of denim.” This particular company has one of the best selections of men’s denim. We carry four styles with a variety of washes for each because we know that guys can be particular about style too.
Another brand we carry that’s closely connected with AG is Citizens of Humanity. The company was founded in 2003 and is also based out of LA where they produce around 1 million pairs of jeans locally! If it’s made in the US, it’s just another reason for us to love it! Citizens of Humanity also produces a magazine twice a year showcasing people in the creative industry doing stuff that matters and that’s just cool! We have a great selection of styles and washes; from slim to straight or even a relaxed fit, we have it all!
A brand founded in 2002 in, yep, you guessed it, LA, that just about everyone has heard of is Seven for all Mankind. Also known as Seven, this company launched a men’s line in 2002 and it’s been a huge hit in our stores. The more traditional denim feel to these jeans make them a big winner with the guys. For some men, jeans that are too soft or “modern’ won’t cut it. They don’t want to feel like they’re wearing yoga pants; they want that tough and thick denim that’s been around for decades. As well as carrying Seven denim, we also have soft flannels, crisp button downs, sweaters, basic t-shirts and the occasional zip-up.
Last but not least in the denim department we have Joe’s jeans. Probably known as the most comfortable jean in the store, this company knows how to mimic that “favorite pair of jeans”feel like no one else. Joe Dahan, a designer who wanted to make modern versions of basic wardrobe pieces for men and women alike, founded the company in 2001 in LA. As well as blue jeans, we also carry colored denim as well by Joe’s. Local shopper and stylish outdoorsmen, Zach Foley, came by Ecco a couple weeks ago to pick up a pair of black jeans for work and everyday wear. He looks great in them along with a soft flannel for a casual look.
Michael Stars and French Connection are two other brands we carry at Ecco. They provide us with great tops for men including dress shirts, casual tees and sweaters.
At ECCO we strive to provide quality, durable and timeless styles that every guy can feel good wearing. Good style is an investment! With all these incredible brands in our store any guy is bound to find something he loves! Come by Ecco on the corner of Church and Bank for whatever your closet is missing!
The biggest factor in making a good store into a great store are the employees! We’re particularly proud of our team here at ECCO, and we wanted to take a second to introduce them, so you can get to know them even better. You’ve already met Marissa and Melissa, and this week we’d love to introduce you to Ally.
ECCO Boutique: What is your bucket list item that you would most like to do?
A: I’d really love to travel around Europe and really spend some time there. I think it would be pretty spectacular.
EB: How about a favorite movie?
A: Wow – too many to choose from. I guess one of my more recent favorite movies is Wolf Of Wall Street. I just watched that and definitely will watch it again soon.
EB: Are you a dog person or a cat person?
A: Both, but I have an 8 year old Miniature Doberman named Jada. She’s adorable.
EB: Last place you saw live music?
A: Oh man, the last time I saw live music? I went to Manhattan’s a month ago for Karaoke Night.
EB: Favorite brand in the store?
A: Really loving Vince right now – just got a great sweater from them!
EB: What about an item that came in that you just had to have?
A: The Citizens of Humanity high waisted rockets jeans, without a doubt.
EB: Are you a big sports fan? Do you watch any sports on TV?
A: I’m a huge sports fan. My favorite sport to watch is definitely football, but my favorite sport to play is soccer. I actually played semi-professionally for the Long Island Rough Riders.
EB: Really – that’s awesome! What position did you play?
A: I was recruited to play mid-field, but I wound up playing forward. It was a really amazing experience.
Ally is wearing: Charlie Jade silk pants // Velvet by Graham & Spencer tank // Liebeskind Berlin handbag // Chinese Laundry shoes // June leather jacket.

Their favorite place to grab dinner, best part about living in Vermont, must have piece of clothing, can’t-leave-home-without-it travel accessory…you get the idea. So, without further ado, here’s Melissa!
ECCO Boutique: What is your favorite part about living in Vermont?
Melissa: Even when it’s as cold as it has been at times this winter, the snow is just so beautiful. Especially on Church Street, at night, when all the lights are lit up and snow has fallen, it’s gorgeous.
EB: You’re out for a night on the town. Where are you going to eat dinner and where are you grabbing a drink?
EB: Favorite movie?
M: Bridesmaids is pretty awesome. But my favorite movie that is a little older than that is White Oleander with Michelle Pfeiffer. It’s sad, but really good.
EB: Travel item that you just can’t leave home without?
M: Makeup brush and bronzer. Don’t leave home without it.
EB: What is your favorite brand in the shop, and an item that you just knew you had to have?
M: My favorite brands would have to be Velvet and Feel the Piece – and I just got a cashmere sweater from Feel the Piece – my new favorite.
EB: Any hidden talents?
M: I’ve been singing since I was a little girl. In high school and college I was in a capella groups. I love to sing.
