Yes it is true! Ecco is proud to now be carrying a new denim line. Since we are the denim hot spot of downtown Burlington, we knew there was no better way to start off July than gaining a new denim line. Recently created, AMO denim has five specific must have styles that targets all customers. Created by industry veterans with experience from True Religion and Current Elliot, AMO’s five styles are cut from the best vintage denim and range from your true boyfriend jean to your true skinny jean. All of their denim is carefully made with love so that everyone can find their perfect jean. Below is a small excerpt from the AMO website that elaborates further on the AMO story
Longtime friends and self proclaimed denim soulmates, Kelly Urban and Misty Zollars founded AMO in 2014 out of a personal desire and void in the market. ”We couldn’t find the jeans we wanted to wear” both stated, ”We absolutely love vintage jeans, but we find that they rarely fit well and are often uncomfortable. We wanted that vintage look, but also wanted a jean that fit perfectly, and that felt good on.
But it doesn’t stop here, AMO also works with a non-profit organization named SNP LA. This non-profit organization is the largest nonprofit spay and neuter animal welfare organization in California. When buying a pair of AMO denim, you know that a small portion of the proceeds are going to a loving and nurturing organization. What better way to shop? Here is another excerpt from the AMO website explaining in depth what SNP LA does.
SNP LA’s vision is to ensure that spay, neuter and veterinary wellness services are affordable and accessible to all pet owners in the Los Angeles area and to create an environment in which animal shelters no longer rely on euthanizing animals as a way of controlling pet population. SNP LA has spayed and neutered over 100,000 cats and dogs – preventing millions of animals from being born into homelessness.
Here are the 5 styles that AMO carries. Each come in different washes which include distressing and non-distressing. Come to Ecco this July and find your new favorite pair of jeans from AMO denim!
Ecco Clothes in downtown Burlington has long been known as the hotspot for designer clothing, particularly women’s denim and dresses. Over the last two decades we have continually provided women the beautiful fabrics, patterns and styles of some of fashion’s favorite brands. In more recent years, Ecco has slowly moved into the territory of men’s clothing. Burlington is full of professional men in need of durable, well-tailored clothing. We would love to take this opportunity to spotlight our men’s department and to showcase all the amazing brands we carry!
Our men’s department is fully stocked with denim, shorts, button downs, flannels, dress shirts and the casual and comfortable basics. We are always looking out for the latest trends in the men’s world to bring into our store. Not surprisingly, our best seller has always been denim and here’s why: we carry four amazing denim brands that always come through with the best and latest trends for our guys! AG (Adriano Goldschmied) is a brand based out of Los Angeles that’s been around for 15 years and is founded by “the godfather of denim.” This particular company has one of the best selections of men’s denim. We carry four styles with a variety of washes for each because we know that guys can be particular about style too.
Another brand we carry that’s closely connected with AG is Citizens of Humanity. The company was founded in 2003 and is also based out of LA where they produce around 1 million pairs of jeans locally! If it’s made in the US, it’s just another reason for us to love it! Citizens of Humanity also produces a magazine twice a year showcasing people in the creative industry doing stuff that matters and that’s just cool! We have a great selection of styles and washes; from slim to straight or even a relaxed fit, we have it all!
A brand founded in 2002 in, yep, you guessed it, LA, that just about everyone has heard of is Seven for all Mankind. Also known as Seven, this company launched a men’s line in 2002 and it’s been a huge hit in our stores. The more traditional denim feel to these jeans make them a big winner with the guys. For some men, jeans that are too soft or “modern’ won’t cut it. They don’t want to feel like they’re wearing yoga pants; they want that tough and thick denim that’s been around for decades. As well as carrying Seven denim, we also have soft flannels, crisp button downs, sweaters, basic t-shirts and the occasional zip-up.
Last but not least in the denim department we have Joe’s jeans. Probably known as the most comfortable jean in the store, this company knows how to mimic that “favorite pair of jeans”feel like no one else. Joe Dahan, a designer who wanted to make modern versions of basic wardrobe pieces for men and women alike, founded the company in 2001 in LA. As well as blue jeans, we also carry colored denim as well by Joe’s. Local shopper and stylish outdoorsmen, Zach Foley, came by Ecco a couple weeks ago to pick up a pair of black jeans for work and everyday wear. He looks great in them along with a soft flannel for a casual look.
Michael Stars and French Connection are two other brands we carry at Ecco. They provide us with great tops for men including dress shirts, casual tees and sweaters.
At ECCO we strive to provide quality, durable and timeless styles that every guy can feel good wearing. Good style is an investment! With all these incredible brands in our store any guy is bound to find something he loves! Come by Ecco on the corner of Church and Bank for whatever your closet is missing!
1.They stretch to fit but keep their shape!
Let’s face it, everyone in the world of jean lovers has experienced this problem. You buy a brand spankin’ new pair that make you feel like the jean queen just to watch them slowly become your biggest fashion dilema. Nothing like jeans with a saggy bum to make you feel beautiful…not!
This is where the designers swoop in to save the day! We carry seven brands of amazing designer denim that will leave you feeling ready to sieze the day in style.
One of our best-selling brands, AG (Adriano Goldschmied), has a fabric that will hold up in every stretch battle! Their line of contour 360 denim is one for the books! These jeans are fully equiped with a four-way stretch to keep you feeling beautiful and sleek!
2.You can wash them without the color fading.
In an article in the Huffington Post searching for the best black skinny jeans this past February, three of the top 5
jeans are brands we carry in our store. Paige, Jbrand and AG all made the cut. Black jeans are a struggle for a lot
of people because no one wants runny dye ruining their outfit.
These jeans aren’t on the pricey side for no reason! With high-quality fabric that holds shape as well as color you can’t go wrong. These designers took special care to provide the best fabrics out there but if you want to go the extra mile remember to wash your jeans in cold water only turned inside out and lay them flat to dry.
3.They do your booty justice.
We all want our backside to be just as confident as our front and with designer denim you can finally show off that bum without covering it with a long top. The founder of Paige jeans was recently featured in a blog to discuss her company and her passion for denim. On the top of her list of important features in her design is the butt!
Paige cranks out arguably the best butt jean of our time and they don’t plan to end the era any time soon! Paige claims
that the secret to a great looking butt is the pocket placement. The pocket should end right where your cheek meets your thigh.
It’s never fun to part with your favorite pair of jeans so why not invest in a pair of high quality jeans that are made of durable materials? We made sure to seek out the right companies that make quality a huge part of their reputation.
Jeff Rudes, owner of J Brand jeans (ones of our beloved brands), recently spoke about the importance of sticking to the good stuff when it comes the materials used to make these fabulous jeans. In an interview for the website Jean Stories, he said that it’s good to know how to say no and be stern on the quality of your product.
We are in full support of this philosophy which is why his line of gorgeous and long-lasting jeans are one of our top products. It’s that very mindset that makes all of our designer companies so reputable. They provide you with denim that will last you through all those memorable moments in your life.
5.Comfortable is an understatement!
Who says you can’t be fashionable and comfortable at the same time? Most of us wear jeans nearly every day so
having a pair that feels like you’re wearing sweats is the dream! DL 1961 is known for their stretchy quality
and innovative fibers, which is something we can all appreciate when we are bending over to pick up our kids or
out dancing the night away! Whatever it is that you do in your jeans, you might as well do it comfortably.
Continuing what we started last week, we’re looking forward to introducing you to each of the members of the ECCO team that help make the store as great as it is. Last time we introduced you to Melissa, and this week we’d like to tell you a little more about our Store Manager and Buyer extraordinaire, Marissa. A huge reason why we have so many of the styles that you love – Marissa also gives us the inside scoop on her favorite Burlington destinations, hidden talents, and some of the perks involved with being a fashion buyer.
ECCO Boutique: So how long have you been working at ECCO, and what is it about this job that makes you love it?
Marissa: I’ve worked at ECCO for going on four and a half years now, and one of the best parts of the job is the variety. Obviously I love the clothes and the creativity that comes with being involved in deciding what fashions we will bring into the store each season – but one of the best parts is the variety. From creating ads, to selling, to creating unique displays, there’s always something to do. Something new and exciting going on each day.
EB: Can you tell a little about what goes into buying clothes for the store?
M: When we’re buying for upcoming seasons, we go into New York City and meet with our regular brand representatives and designers. We look at what they’re showing for the next season, and really try to see what would work best for our customers and clientele back home. Next we always try to go around and see what innovative options other people are working with and what styles will be on trend in upcoming seasons. We try to pick up a new brand or two and really get immersed in the culture.
EB: Besides being able to get first looks at all the new designs, are there other perks that come with being a buyer for a boutique?
M: Occasionally we’re wined and dined by some of the designers, which we definitely aren’t complaining about!
EB: After a long day, where are you headed to go and grab a drink?
M: Lately, I just can’t get enough of Juniper in Hotel Vermont. They have such great food and drinks, and I love the atmosphere there!
EB: How about for a Sunday Brunch, any favorite spots?
M: The Farmhouse has a really great brunch – and I always get the same thing. Eggs Benedict – can’t mess with a classic.
EB: What is your favorite brand in the shop, and an item that you just knew you had to have?
M: My favorite brand is probably J Brand jeans. I love their styles and they always fit just right. As for an item that I just had to have – there are literally too many items – basically I love them all, that’s a big reason of why we bring them in!
EB: And lastly, how about any hidden talents that we might not know about?
M: I’m a writer – I love to write poetry.
Marissa is wearing: Chinese Laundry shoes // Citizens of Humanity rocket high rise coated jeans // Michael Stars NY State of Mind tank // Joe’s Jeans flannel shirt // June leather jacket.

All eyes were on the Coachella festival last week to see what trends made the cut with attending fashionistas. As to be expected, there were no shortages of bohemian inspired threads like maxi dresses and our new favorite: the high-low dress!
Party in the front but business in the back (sans mullet, of course) makes this our go-to for summer. It’s breezy, elegant and easily dressed up or down. Check out these two styles that just arrived at Ecco!
